Privacy Policy

NextUp ("we", "us", "our") operates the NextUp mobile app and website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information you provide: name, email, phone number, password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
  • Service-request content: the service you need, your preferred timing, notes, and — with your permission — your current location (latitude/longitude) so we can match you with nearby providers.
  • Provider-profile information if you choose to offer services: business name, service categories, city, service radius, and business photos you upload.
  • Device information: platform (iOS/Android), app version, push notification token (if you grant notifications permission).
  • Usage data: broadcast history, response history, completed bookings, and ratings you leave.

2. How we use your information

  • To connect customers with nearby providers (we share your service request — not your full address — with matching providers until you accept one).
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To send push notifications about responses, bookings, and important account events (only if you grant permission).
  • To improve the service and fix bugs.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Location privacy

When you broadcast a request, we send only your approximate distance (e.g. "0.8 mi") to potential providers — not your exact coordinates or address. Your exact address is revealed only to the single provider you explicitly accept for a booking, and only for that booking.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

  • With service providers you interact with through the app, as described above.
  • With infrastructure vendors strictly necessary to run the service (hosting on Render, Apple Push Notification service, Google Cloud Messaging).
  • When required by law or to protect user safety.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen; we then permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except minimal records required by law (e.g. tax records for paid provider subscriptions).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@nextupservices.com.

7. Children

NextUp is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete the data promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
